April 18 – May 3: TULIP FESTIVAL! TULIPS OF THE VALLEY &
LIMBERT MOUNTAIN FARM

 

Drive out to see the 40 acre tulip fields then come to Limbert Mtn Farm (10 min drive) for “Tulip Tea.” Our Tea Room is available for group bookings only, from Monday to Friday. Saturdays & Sundays from 12-4 pm will feature a special luncheon for the general public, including our popular “tulip herb mousse”.

 

WOMEN’S NIGHT with CHEF DEZ and the AGASSIZ FIRE DEPT.
FRIDAY, MAY 29. 7 – 9:30

A spring celebration of GARDENING & COOKING WITH HERBS. This is an opportunity to sample great food, start off the gardening season and enjoy an evening of fun!

Chef Dez and Claude will be in the kitchen, (note the men are in the kitchen!), to show you how simple & delicious food can be with the addition of fresh herbs. Recipes will be available. Trudie & Rheanna will be under the pergola with a wide variety of container herbs to get you started on your best herb garden yet!

This event is a fundraiser for the Agassiz Volunteer Fire Dept. Members will be on hand to inform you about the work that they do and to accept your donations towards the purchase of a new rescue vehicle.

 

BRUNCH ON THE FARM
SUNDAY, JULY 12. 11am-2pm.

Come out and enjoy an amazing array of local food served right here in the midst of our beautiful valley scenery.

Tickets: $50. Seating is limited.

The Herb GardenCELEBRATE BASIL
SATURDAY & SUNDAY, JULY 18 & 19

 

“A celebration of the most versatile herb!”

Numerous varieties of basil available in containers, fresh bunches and herbal products. Of course there will be plenty of our popular basil pesto and basil chocolate. A basil inspired lunch and afternoon tea will be available in our kitchen from 12-4 pm. both days. Our farm hours are Sat, 10 – 5 & Sun, 12 – 5.

 

GARLIC FESTIVAL
SATURDAY & SUNDAY, AUG. 15 & 16

basket of garlic Our freshly harvested garlic will be available as well as our garlic nectar – Barn Warmer and Barn Burner, in addition to a variety of other food products produced on our farm.

We will introduce you to the different varieties that we grow, provide recipes, samples and information for growing your own garlic. Try one of Claude’s “garlicious bungles”.

Our kitchen will be serving lunch with “everything garlic” from 12 – 4 pm. Our farm hours are Sat., 10-5 & Sun., 12 – 5 pm.

 

SLOW FOOD CYCLE TOUR
SATURDAY, AUG. 22

Park your car at the Agassiz Agricultural Grounds, grab a map, get on your bicycle and tour the country roads to discover a variety of farms that produce everything from soup to nuts!

Limbert Mountain Farm will be offering tours of our herb & vegetable gardens and greenhouses – an opportunity to connect to the food that you eat and to learn about what it takes to produce a wide variety of foods organically. Our farm hours for this event are 9 am to 5 pm.

 

HARVEST FESTIVAL
SATURDAY, SUNDAY & MONDAY, OCTOBER 10, 11 & 12

A celebration of the annual harvest! Thanksgiving is the perfect time to celebrate and to be thankful for the abundant table that has been provided throughout the year. Increase your appreciation for Autumn specialties such as squash, pumpkins, and chestnuts. Samples, recipes for inspiration and great food served in our kitchen. Kitchen hours are 12 – 4 pm.

Our farm hours are Sat., 10-5 pm, Sun., 12 – 5 pm and Mon., 10-5 pm.

A kick off to the Christmas season! Chef Dez will be in the kitchen to entertain and to inspire you to make your own appetizers for holiday entertaining. Food samples and recipes provided. The store will be decorated for Christmas and filled with gift ideas.

CIRCLE FARM CHRISTMAS TOUR

The Circle Farm Tour participants each plan something special for Christmas on this weekend. From a live Nativity, to music & entertainment, food and beverages, great gift ideas and free draws for local product. Our Tea Room will be serving lunch from 12-4. Farm hours are Sat. 10-5 pm. & Sun. 12-5 pm.

At Limbert Mountain Farm, our aim is to provide you with excellent herbs, fresh seasonal produce and Simply Fine Foods created in our kitchen. We provide classes on growing and using herbs as well as cooking and dining experiences to enhance your appreciation of herbs and local, seasonal foods. In addition, we host several events in celebration of the changing seasons and the foods that are part of that season.

 

Classes 2016

The following Cooking & Dining Experiences have been designed to enhance your appreciation of fresh, local, seasonal foods in an intimate, casual environment.

All classes require pre-registration and we encourage you to register early to avoid disappointment. Your space is reserved once you register so we are unable to provide refunds.

 

April 4, 9:30 – 12:00: WILD HERB IDENTIFICATION
“COOKING ON THE WILD SIDE”

Trudie will provide an introduction to identifying and utilizing edible wild herbs in unique ways to enhance the flavor and nutritional value of your meals. This session takes place on our mountain trails so dress in weather appropriate clothing. Claude will then welcome you to our cozy kitchen for a wildly delicious brunch, created from the naturally abundant foods. Cost is $55 per person.

 

June 6, 9:30 – 11:30: AN APPRECIATION OF CULINARY HERBS

Trudie will introduce you to a wide variety of culinary herbs to add amazing flavor to foods, grow your own tea or make seasonings to enhance your meals throughout the year. This session takes place outdoors so weather appropriate clothing is advised. Cost is $40 per person.

 

~ COOKING & DINING EXPERIENCES ~

The following experiences have been designed to enhance your appreciation of fresh, local, seasonal foods, prepared in an intimate, casual environment. Chef Dez creates each dish while you relax, enjoy a glass of wine and learn some techniques to use in your own kitchen. It is our pleasure to serve, teach and to entertain.

Classes consist of 4- 5 courses and include wine, or other appropriate beverage, and recipes. Pre-registration and payment is required and we encourage you to register early to avoid disappointment. Your space is reserved once you register so we are unable to provide refunds.

Each class begins at 6:00 pm.

The cost is $60 per person and does not include tax or gratuity.

 

March 27: ITALIAN SEAFOOD with CHEF DEZ

Simply delicious cuisine is the true Italian way! Italy is our favorite place in the world to eat.

 

April 25: TAPAS NIGHT with CHEF DEZ

In keeping with the popular trend of eating lighter and serving a variety of interesting dishes as “small plates”.

 

May 14: MEDITERRANEAN NIGHT with CHEF DEZ

Rich in fresh herbs and garlic, delight your taste buds with the flavors of the Mediterranean countries.

 

June 18: TASTE OF TUSCANY with CHEF DEZ

The sensuous foods produced in this part of Italy are reminiscent of romantic evenings in Florence! This evening is a GARDEN to TABLE event. We will begin the evening with a visit to the gardens to harvest some of the foods that Dez will be preparing.

 

July 7: SUMMER SIZZLER with CHEF DEZ

Outdoor eating at its best. Enjoy a variety of foods grilled to perfection, under the stars!

 

August 5: BEEF GRILLING EVENT with CHEF DEZ

Learn the techniques for preparing tender beef and all the trimmings. This evening takes place in our outdoor seating area.

 

September 9: RUSTIC ITALIAN with CHEF DEZ

Envision a farmhouse kitchen filled with the scent of herbs and tables festooned with heaping bowls of fresh tomatoes, garlic, peppers and succulent olives! This evening is a GARDEN to TABLE event. We will begin with a visit to the gardens to harvest some of the foods that Dez will be preparing.

 

October 12: CAJUN NIGHT with CHEF DEZ

Experience the spices of the south to warm up an October evening.

 

November 13: GREEK NIGHT with CHEF DEZ

Delight your taste buds with the flavors of the Greek Islands. Greek gourmet at it’s best.

 

December 5: TAPAS NIGHT with CHEF DEZ

Enjoy a variety of “small plates”. Perfect for entertaining or for creating lighter meals.

 

December 12: DINNER PARTY- SATURDAY with CHEF DEZ

Celebrate winter with us! Wholesome food , the warmth of friends , candlelight and festivity!

 

Our Simply Fine Foods kitchen is available for private functions. Our meals are always from scratch and the majority of the food is either grown on our farm or sourced from other local producers. Contact us to register for your favourite classes before they fill up.

 

Healthy Living – Healthy Eating

At Limbert Mountain Farm our aim is to promote healthy living by growing, preparing and serving the freshest seasonal foods that we can offer.

With this commitment comes a desire to encourage you to grow, harvest, process and cook with seasonal herbs, fruit & vegetables. Our hope is that everyone will enjoy “Simply Fine Foods”.

All classes require pre-registration to reserve your space. You can register by phone, mail, email or in person.
